...from Chapter Eleven: Resilience in Action: Transforming Children, Parents, and Education
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the World”, Nelson Mandela
Children are our future. Whether we are parents, teachers, police, religious, or volunteers, we all want to invest all our love, wisdom, and guidance to prepare our children for life. Children are like a seed that has all the potential of the mature plant, that realizes its full potential through practicing principles of gardening or horticulture. Raising children with an understanding of the Principles of resilience allows that seed to grow, to help them realize their purpose, talents, happiness, and success in life. Without an understanding of the Principles behind resilience, we as influencers in their lives are handicapped to nurture that resilience. This chapter will share stories of how the Three Principles are transforming parenting, education, and counseling children.

Christa Campsall
Christa Campsall BEd, DiplSpEd, MA
Christa is a teacher who has been in service at the primary, intermediate and secondary levels in the Canadian K12 education system as: Classroom Teacher, Learning Integration Support Teacher in Special Education, and Teacher-Leader of School-based Teams.
Throughout this varied experience, Christa has benefitted from an understanding she encountered when she was a student at the University of BC in 1975. At that time, she was introduced by Sydney Banks to what today is called the "Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought." Even a first glimmer of this knowledge had the power to transform her life by impacting her teaching and learning, as well as deepening the level of happiness and peace of mind in her personal life. Christa was privileged to be mentored by Mr. Banks throughout her teaching career.
For 40+ years Christa had achieved dramatic results sharing the Principles with her own students and therefore was inspired to answer the National Resilience Resource Center call for a global curriculum. With a team, she developed and designed the MGI series to innovatively meet government education guidelines. My Guide Inside is disseminated in over 20 countries and multiple translations are available.
Christa lives on Salt Spring Island in BC; she enjoys connecting, sharing, and collaborating with educators in the global community.

Gary Johnson, MSW
has had a variety of social service jobs in his career and was introduced to the Three Principles in 1996. He worked in public schools for the last 35 years as a school social worker in St. Cloud, Minnesota and for the last 20 years in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Prior to that time he worked in a hospital mental health setting, in a group home with young men, Head Start program teaching and administration and teaching in a prison education setting. When he was introduced to the principles he moved from trying to fix people to drawing out the health that he knew was present in the people he worked with. He worked as a trainer with the National Resilience Resource Center in Menomonie and other educational settings. His last years before retirement, he worked as a mental health therapist seeing himself as a mental health educator. He continues to live in the joy of gratitude.

WHAT IS THREE PRINCIPLES PSYCHOLOGY AND HOW IS THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE CREATED?
I hope this newsletter will serve you as an essential guide to a RESILIENT LIFE that includes:
- Happiness
- Connection
- Prevent Stress & Burnout
- A Sense of Purpose
- Freedom from Addiction, Depression, Anxiety
In 1980, I was fortunate to learn of a paradigm shift happening in psychology. It was in its infancy but showed promise in illuminating the constant principles behind all human experience–whether in people with mental dysfunction or very successful people who were functioning at levels of creativity, resilience, performance, and success.
