Dear ,
For spot colour printers, remixing leftovers into new jobs is essential for keeping waste down and meeting sustainability targets. This month, we introduce an effective method for dealing with ‘difficult’ press returns that can sit around in the flexo or gravure printer’s store room.
Contaminated inks and collections of vastly differing colour pigments can’t be calculated into new blends mathematically. But as we explain in our new blog , you can swiftly reuse these problematic inks with the ‘spectral method’. Supported by new ink management software, the method uses spectral data of returned and fresh ink ingredients, to reach the new target. Using this as a complementary method gives you a solution for returning all inks - and further reduces your carbon footprint.
Insecure supply chains make waste reduction a top priority
Waste reduction is a hot topic in package printing right now – also because of concerns about raw material availability. Ink manufacturers warn that political instability is making supplies slower and more costly to deliver. By focusing on reusing press-return inks this month, we aim to help printers face these challenges with resilience.
