In the 10 Crucial Days of the American Revolution, which started with Washington's Crossing of the Delaware, Day Nine occurred on the banks of Assunpink Creek in the Second Battle of Trenton. General George Washington and the Continental Army successfully battled General Cornwallis’s 8,000 British and Hessian troops until nightfall. While Cornwallis planned to “bag the fox in the morning”, the fox led his troops to Princeton to win the final battle in those 10 Crucial Days.
