We in the University of
Rochester Department of History are honored to invite you to the formal
rededication of the Christopher Lasch Seminar Room.
Following years of
planning and many months of construction, the brand-new Christopher Lasch
Seminar Room was opened for department use in September 2022. Since then,
department staff (including several graduate students) have been hard at work
organizing and outfitting the space so it can serve as both a 21st-century
classroom and a distinguished repository for the library of Christopher Lasch.
We are grateful to department administrator Jacqui Rizzo, former department
chair Laura Ackerman Smoller, Professor Emeritus Robb Westbrook, and the entire
project team for their considerable dedication of time and resources throughout
the planning process.
We invite you to join us
on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Rush Rhees 305 to
celebrate the completion of the new Christopher Lasch Seminar Room and honor
the legacy of its namesake. We will hold a short ceremony in the seminar room,
with an open house reception in the department to follow.
If you plan to attend,
please RSVP via this Google form by the end of the day on
Wednesday, March 29. We look forward to celebrating with you!
