EAA Features "Skywheels Rotors" in the May Issue of Sport Aviation Magazine

Blade manufacturing begins

Skywheels rotor blade systems were prominently featured in the May issue of Sport Aviation Magazine. Innovation column author Beth Stanton interviewed six people closely involved with the restart of Skywheels manufacturing and recent test flights.

In the article, Beth weaved together present-day work with 35-years of history that has made the high-performance rotor blade system a favorite with gyroplane pilots. The Skywheels article is located on pages 16 to 18 of the May magazine. The monthly publication is distributed to 240,000 EAA members.

Beth's article, titled "Classic Concept Meets Modern Manufacturing," captured the essence of bringing back into production one of the best gyroplane rotor blades ever made for the niche market. Beth commented she's heard from readers the article illustrated how new techniques and technology can rejuvenate an earlier production item to a state of advancement and how tighter tolerances make a better product.

Air Command Gyroplane Kit Update

New single-seat kit to be shown at AirVenture in Oshkosh

Air Command recently shared its upgraded single-seat gyroplane kit in 3D design with its entire team of engineers, designers, manufacturing partners, and consultants. The company plans to unveil its updated and refreshed design at AirVenture in Oshkosh.

According to company President Joe Covelli, "Now that Skywheels rotor blade manufacturing has begun, we've redirected our engineering attention back to the single-seat gyroplane kit to finish the last remaining part drawings". Joe added, "We've begun to price the new single-seat kit as well as started assembly of the gyroplane that will be on display at AirVenture".  AirVenture is from July 26 to August 1, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Air Command and Skywheels booth is number 927, which is located in the ultralight runway area.
