As our community grows we start facing some anticipated issues. With the introduction of the internal messaging system (chat in the app) we received several reports of potential scammers writing to our members.

Therefore, we've just introduced "The Report Option" in the app chat.

If you see a possible threat please report it in the app chat by sliding the message to the left and click "Report". We'll investigate and take measures.

For now the chat is available only if you use our NomadMania app.

Small Updates for the Location Sharing

From now on you can see the actual number of NomadMania users sharing their location in the app. It's next to the "nomads" button above the menu.

REMEMBER! In order to see others you have to share your location first. We also expanded the location precision to 1 km radius  upon requests.

Let's grow this number to 1000 users and then continue further :-)

You might find a rather large group on the map in Western Tanzania. These are the participants of our East Africa Tour happening right now.

You're encouraged to track and follow our journey in instagram stories :-)

HIRING - Travel Experience Manager

Since our tours are picking up and we have ambitious plans to uncover many destinations around the globe in the “NomadMania style,” our team is announcing a dedicated position to lead this direction.

We are looking for a Travel Experience Manager :-)

This is a full-time position for an exceptionally extroverted, dynamic, organised and community-minded person who can plan well, likes meeting new people ‘virtually’ as well as in person and wants to be responsible for a full project from start to finish.

See the details and apply here :-)

Some of them are already full. See [FULL] in the headline.

Join the rest of the tours upon availability :-)

Please note that our Balochistan trip is now going to take place in November: we're really looking forward to exploring that part of the world!

New DAREs!

This week we have added the following DAREs to the NomadMania map:

IN MEMORIAM

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend and global traveller Jeroen A., who has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 51. Flemish-born Jeroen was one of the travel greats, deeply knowledgeable about the world’s geography and especially interested in obscure out-of-the-way places, small islands and geographical oddities.

He became an integral part of the travel community after the infamous Bouvet expedition in 2015, subsequently embarking on many intrepid adventures along with highly-ranked NomadMania members to the likes of the Russian Arctic, Sudan, Somalia, the South Pole and many more.

Participating actively in NomadMania’s first (2017, Layang-Layang, Spratlys) and second (2019, Faial, Azores, photo below) Conferences, during the pandemic in 2020, Jeroen achieved his dream of acquiring a boat with which he planned to travel to the remote islands he so loved.

While he could have easily joined the ranks of the UN Masters, being only a couple of countries away from the goal, he was always more interested in beating to his own drum rather than completing any lists. He and his wife moved to Panama, from where they explored more of the Americas. Jeroen will be deeply missed by us all.

Check out our Certificates. There's definitely something for you :-)
