When it's hot, do you overheat? Do you lose your cool? Or do you get super clumsy like I do? Here's a list of my mishaps . . .
Last week family came to visit, and I dropped lots of things. We went to a fabled theme park and I dropped my sunglasses over a staircase and a cast member had to fetch them. Then my eyeglasses fell off my face . . . not once, not twice, but three times! And I misplaced tickets and . . . Well, I was a mess. LOL A laughable mess but a hot mess. Even so, the family had a good time lots of laughs, at my expense.
Then they went home -- the temps were even hotter -- and I continued with my foibles. I stepped on the corner of a sheet as I was folding it and tripped myself, and rammed my arm against the corner of a cabinet. The bruise is something to behold! Luckily I didn't break anything. Yipes.
So when it's hot, take it easy. Drink lots of fluids. And breathe. That's my new mantra and I'm sticking to it.
But August is here and it's going to get hotter and busier for me. I'm going to be attending Bouchercon, a mystery conference, in San Diego, and I have two books due -- the final edits on my new thriller (see info below) and the submission of the first draft of a new cozy mystery series. I have had so much fun juggling all the stories and characters. Yes, I do keep them straight.
Now, news about my thriller, THE SON'S SECRET. It will be coming out in January, but it is available for pre-order, Kindle and hardcover. The paperback version will release later on. I hope you'll check it out. You can read more about it on my website and watch the book trailer.
