DIAMOND, supported by H2020 PARIS REINFORCE and Horizon Europe IAM COMPACT, is launching a survey to understand how to conceptualise and establish an inclusive modelling environment, ensuring that diverse perspectives, knowledge, and interactions are integrated into the modelling process. The aim is to enhance the credibility and effectiveness of model results that guide policymakers towards more relevant and actionable climate action decisions.

• Purpose: Gather diverse perspectives on barriers and opportunities in participatory modelling processes

• Time required: Approximately 15 minutes

• Confidentiality: Your responses will remain confidential, and no personal information will be collected

• Deadline for Completion: 22.01.2024

DIAMOND co-hosted a panel discussion at the Greek Pavilion at COP28, in Dubai, aiming to explore the uncertainties and challenges ahead for the EU’s journey to net zero in 2050. The key objectives of this COP28 side-event were to (a) highlight potential challenges to the EU’s path to net zero, (b) fuel the policy debate on critical technologies, and (c) share knowledge.

The discussion featured the presentation of our flagship study on the EU’s path to net-zero, recently published in Joule (you can read it here in open access).

On behalf of DIAMOND, Prof. Ryna Yiyun Cui (University of Maryland), Prof. and mayor-elect of Athens Haris Doukas (NTUA), Dr. Alaa Al Khourdajie (Imperial) and Assoc. Prof. Steve Pye participated as panelists.

Two major meetings for the Integrated Assessment Modelling community recently took place: the 16th IAMC Annual Meeting 2023 on November 14-16, 2023, in Venice, Italy and the European Climate and Energy Modelling Forum – ECEMP 2023 on October 5-6, 2023, online.
