'The Interpretation of Dreams', the brand new compilation from Amulet of Tears is out now and available for streaming on all major platforms. The vinyl edition has been already shipped, while there are still a few cassettes remaining.
'The Interpretation of Dreams' is a conceptual compilation. 11 artists have been selected to soundtrack an imaginary dream interpretation session based on works of Sigmund Freud.
Work on this release began in early 2023 and all artists were given 3 months to create a piece based on the assignment.
The result is a compilation divided into 4 parts: 'Freud’s Couch', 'Manifest Narrative' 'Latent Content' and 'Aftermath: The Essence of Dreaming'.
'Freud’s Couch' represents the setting for the session. The famous Freud’s couch was covered by rugs. This is reflected in the compilation’s artwork, designed by Anasisana.
'Manifest Narrative' part of the compilation is the content of the dream. It unravels slowly, dives deep into the nightmare episode and finishes with ecstatic notes.
Meanwhile, 'Latent Content' is the actual interpretation of the dream, explaining the meaning behind it.
The final part, 'Aftermath: The Essence of Dreaming' is the closure, something to take away from the session and the compilation.
It is Amulet of Tears’ 15th release and the 3rd conceptual compilation, following 'The Birth of Tragedy' and 'Invisible Cities.
