Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
USET is committed to providing pertinent information and support to USET member Tribal Nations for efficient operations. The purpose of this alert is to bring awareness of EDA’s updates to its new, centralized grants management system, Economic Development Grants Experience (EDGE). First announced in March 2023. EDGE will be expanded this March 2024 to include all awards currently being managed in Grants Online (GOL).
What does this mean? Starting February 13, 2024, all awards currently being managed in GOL will be transitioned to EDGE, and any new grants previously accessible on GOL will also be transitioned to EDGE. After the March Go-Live date, all awards and grants available in GOL will only be accessible for processing in EDGE.
What do I need to do? The EDGE Project Team will be sending us weekly updates that we will be passing along to you. For now, they advise that all outstanding actions must be completed in GOL before the start of the blackout on February 13th, or they will be put on pause until the second week in March when your award will be accessible/editable in EDGE.
Where can I find resources? The EDGE Project Team have created multiple Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) and Tutorial Videos that give step-by-step instructions for grantees and applicants to become familiar with the EDGE Portal itself, as well as the processes you are used to doing in GOL, but in EDGE. The EDGE Portal can be found here https://sfgrants.eda.gov/s/. The training materials mentioned can be accessed by clicking “Resources” then “Training Materials” for all Tutorial Videos and “Documents” for all QRGs.
When and how do I get started? Starting the second week in March, several live training events will be provided to help you get started. In addition, designated Authorized Representatives and Financial Managers will be invited to activate your EDGE account in mid-March. Emailed invitations will be system generated and come from grantsnoreply@eda.gov. The exact date will be confirmed as the date approaches. In addition to live online training events, support for account activation will also be provided. Please Note that account activation takes 1 to 2 business days.
Regular updates and more detailed communications are forthcoming.
For all EDGE technical questions or additional assistance, please email salesforcesupport@eda.gov.
USET will continue to provide further support and updates as they become available. For further questions, please contact Rebecca Naragon, Economic Development Director, at rnaragon@usetinc.org.
