How are you doing this fine weekend?
It’s coming up to the holiday season and though Christmas ❄️ in Uruguay is not such a big thing, where you are in the world it may well be. And you may well be looking for a fabulous gift 🎁 for the (future?) Uruguay lover in your life.
The Guru’Guay Guide to Montevideo came out in paperback and kindle just before the pandemic and the audiobook right in the middle. Yep, we’re in it for the long haul.
Even the Lonely Planet loves our guides. “Excellent. Jam-packed with useful insider information,” they say. Adela Dubra, a well-known book critic here in Uruguay praised our guides for their “onda y swing”! ‘Onda’ means coolness. She really used the word ‘swing’ in English 😂
The Guru’Guay guidebook to Uruguay came out four years ago. Despite that, I’ll say it myself, it’s still a super informative and entertaining read. Because we pride ourselves on selecting solid businesses that are also in it for the long haul, most of our recommendations have come through the pandemic and we wish them all the best for the coming season.
In the meantime updates for the Uruguay guide are online here. Yes, just one of the beauties of buying a guidebook by someone who actually lives full-time in the place she's writing about.
It hasn’t been easy over the last 18 months that the borders have been closed here in Uruguay for anyone working in the travel industry. And that includes us. Now is the time you can show your support and make your friends and relatives very happy when they open their Christmas stocking to discover their very own Guru’Guay guidebook. ❤️
Or why not use an Audible credit and treat yourself to the audiobook? You will make a difference to how we close out the year and you’ll be giving a gift… with swing! 💃 😂

Have yourself a great weekend. ❤️🇺🇾🙏
