This week’s design lesson

The design is really important with a hero section of a landing page or website, as it sets the initial impression and needs to clearly convey your value proposition. 

• Use 1 or 2 columns only – any more than that and it becomes unfocussed.
• Make sure the visual balance is correct, with value headline being the the main focus, then an image. 
• Write a headline that talks about solving a customer problem, not about your product.
• Avoid using a free or generic image – its job is to support the headline and be memorable.
