The eFP sends a strong message to our adversaries: NATO is indivisible, and the key rule of unity when all allies stand for one is viable and intact, Vice Minister of National Defence V. Umbrasas says

On August 1 change of command and rotations ceremony took place in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group in Rukla. Representative of the German Army Lieutenant Colonel Peer Papenbroock will hand over the command to his fellow German representative Lieutenant Colonel Rouven Habel after having been in charge of the NATO eFP Battalion Battle Group Lithuania since February.

Vice Minister of National Defence V. Umbrasas thanked outgoing Commander Lt Col P. Papenbroock for an excellent job and wished luck in continuing the activities to Lt Col R. Habel who is assuming the command of the thousand-strong battle group.

Solar energy day at the Ministry of Energy

On the 1st of August Ministry of Energy has initiated press-conference and open discussion, during which there were presented past initiatives, future plans and financial means for incentivizing the citizens to become energy prosumers. During the event, the Minister of Energy and representatives of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, the Lithuanian Solar Energy Association, the National Lithuanian Energy Association and the Alliance of Lithuanian consumer organisations have signed an agreement establishing an Alliance of Energy Prosumers.

The world's first digital collector coin is under way

The Bank of Lithuania has signed a contract for programming the world’s first digital collector coin which, together with its physical version, is expected to be issued at the beginning of 2020.
After public consultation with market participants, in February 2019, the Bank of Lithuania launched a public procurement procedure for programming the digital collector coin. The contract was signed with the Lithuanian company iTree which will have 6 months to create the digital tokens (the coin’s digital version) and the sales platform using the blockchain technology.

AmerisourceBergen to Establish New Office in Vilnius, Bolster Global Footprint


AmerisourceBergen, a global healthcare solutions and commercialization leader, has announced plans to expand operations in Vilnius. AmerisourceBergen’s new office, which will open in January of 2020, will have responsibilities for a wide range of functions, including Finance, Treasury and Accounting, Digital Business Solutions, Customer Care, and Human Resources.

The company intends to recruit 200 positions in this location and invest up to 30 million euros over the next five years.

The building of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Chemical of Technology (former Lithuanian Army Research Laboratory) is among 10 exceptional buildings in the world to receive a grant from Getty Foundation, the philanthropic organisation dedicated to the presentation, conservation, and interpretation of the world’s artistic legacy.
