Last week, we featured 5 things we're looking forward to this spring and if you can believe it, we left out...HIKING!

We love hiking throughout North Carolina no matter the time of year but spring is that special time when nature's beautiful colors return.

Since we're seeing spring a bit earlier than expected, I want to give you a head start with some hiking trails that we're looking forward to seeing:

• Raven Rock Trail at Raven Rock State Park: This park near Fayetteville and Raleigh starts popping earlier in the spring with one of the rarest peak views in Eastern NC, too! 
• Medoc Mountain State Park: Plentiful Spring flowers will arrive soon in this Halifax County park/day trip from Raleigh.
• Indian Creek Trail in Hanging Rock State Park: You'll easily catch flowers in April near the Dan River Access of this long trail.
• High Shoals Falls Trail in South Mountains State Park: This trail near Charlotte and also, Asheville leads to a beautiful waterfall and spring wildflowers!
  
• Graveyard Fields Loop Trail: Later arrivals for spring flowers (Mid-to-End-April) to this higher elevation hike, but truly beautiful.
  

Keep in mind that weather changes can affect the timing of blooms, but we hope you'll enjoy these hikes regardless of the colors that await.

We recently dropped the price of our NC Bucket List Book both for digital and print. The Print version is now $20 and the Digital is now $10.

Christina had a quick getaway to Topsail Island this week and is back home for the rest of the week. I look forward to taking our littlest one on a hike while we've got this amazing weather. Do you have any suggestions?
