A cinematic artwork by late, beloved filmmaker Jonas Mekas set to Verdi’s "Requiem" will be screened at The Shed November 1–10 as a meditative tribute to Verdi’s masterpiece and an homage to the filmmaker himself. Mekas, who passed away in January at the age of 96, drew inspiration from the words of Alessandro Manzoni, the poet and novelist to whom Verdi’s "Requiem" was originally dedicated. See two new interpretations of Verdi’s "Requiem," by conductor Teodor Currentzis and filmmaker Jonas Mekas, this fall. Get tickets: http://bit.ly/2kXPAFR Photo of Jonas Mekas by Chuck Close
