Your little park with a big community heart!

Not long now until our weekend of Christmas cheer. A heated marquee will be erected in the park to allow an indoor cinema experience and a Christmas Market on the first weekend of December.

Be quick to book your 'Elf' tickets, the early performance is nearly full but  7.45pm screening tickets are still available in the cafe at £8.50 or £9.00 reserved online with free popcorm included.

Santa in the Woods grotto tickets are now in sale in the cafe too at £3 per child including gift. Please buy in advance if possible.

Walking to the event is advised however, for the Christmas Market only on 1st and 2nd we have arranged FREE parking between 11am and 4pm at Hassenbrook Academy. Access to the main car park is via the entrance in Hassenbrook Road, Stanford-le-Hope SS170NS.  It’s a short walk to the park.

Local people raising funds The Co-op Way

A big thank you to the local community who shop at The Co-op. Their Local Community Fund gives back to local causes and we really appreciate that members chose to support us over the past year. We will be at the Stanford-le-hope Co-op store on Saturday 24th November between 12pm and 1pm and we would love to see you there! The £3271.09 raised will be directed to our slide project and has most definitely helped our dream become reality.

A speedy slide towards our goal with £14,000 grant

Friends of Hardie Park have been actively fundraising this year to install a new super slide in the park. Installation of play equipment doesn't come cheap but the support for the project has been great and the idea of a new slide has been welcomed by the community.

The following funds have already been realised:

The Crazy Travel Fundraising Challenge and Park to Pier Race  = £5000

Rotary Club Corringham Thameside = £500

The Co-op Local Community Fund =  £3271.09

We then receive some fantastic news!

A grant of £14,000 towards our new embankment slide from Thurrock Council’s Community Environmental Development Fund.

Bingo...we are nearly there! The wheels are now in motion and we hope to have the equipment installed by the end of March 2019! Exciting times.

Hardie Park Gardeners...what a team!

What a fantastic job our volunteer gardeners do in keeping our park in bloom year round. The team of 20 or more have finished for the winter but usually meet every Friday (and lots of other times in between). The well kept flower beds greet visitors to Hardie Park and are often commented on by those passing through.

There have been a few new developments this year; a lovely hydrangea bed near the children's playground and a sunflower bed along the path.  It's year two for the bluebells, fingers crossed more should appear this year. The bulbs and winter bedding have been planted so come springtime the park should look amazing!

Not all the gardeners meet at the same time but often get together for a catch up. Their Xmas lunch is booked and we are sure we will see them in the cafe for coffee and a sausage roll over the winter.

Enjoy a well earned rest and we look forward to enjoying the park with you next year!

Pennies to £££ walking the pooch

WOW...
Jacqueline, one of our lovely Wednesday crafters has collected £106.81 of loose change found on dog walks around Tilbury and Chadwell over the last year. Amazing!

She has decided to donate it to Hardie Park! 🐶 Big thanks to Jacqueline and her 4 legged friend 🐶

Cosiest corner in the park

The cafe re-furb is still work in progress but the wood burning stove has transformed the space into a warm, sociable area. If you've not been down during the works period, pop in for a cappuccino by the fire.
