Hi, I’m Tom Wakechild. In this video newsletter we will discuss the Law of the Past and how to consciously use it for your present benefit.
The Law of the Past states. The only thing you can change about the past is how much it affects you.
The past is fixed but your interpretation or story about the past is very flexible. By reframing past experiences, you can change how the past affects your present and future. This means you can change your future by reframing your past in present time.
Our society’s fear-based thought system claims that you are a victim or product of your past. It states that the past is fixed and unchangeable. On the physical realm this is true. Yet in the mental realm, your past is subject to your own mind’s interpretation. Because of this erroneous belief that the past is fixed, most refuse to take control of how they choose to interpret past events. They carry their past into the present moment. By dragging your past into your present moment, you are never in the now. You easily slip into society ‘s blame shame and guilt game. Your future becomes a replay of the past.
Your mind is a master storyteller. A deliberate creator consciously reframes their past so that it can be used as a stepping stone to a future they have consciously decided to grow into and become. This does not mean that past events never happened. Nor are past experiences something to be denied. Instead, as a deliberate creator, each decides how to reframe those same past events in order to support a new vision for their future. Past events or traumatic experiences thus become valuable learning lessons and important baby steps toward that future. These experiences may not be something they wish to repeat but as a learner, they realize they were necessary for their personal journey of reclaiming their own creative power. Past events are seen as stepping stones needed to grow into their present and future pre-determined self-identity.
Events are what actually happens in space-time. Experiences are your story or interpretation you give to those same events. in space-time, you do not have 100% control over all the events the collective consciousness throws your way. You do, however, have 100% control over the attitude and interpretation you choose to place on those events. This is why nothing outside yourself has the power to affect your inner peace unless you choose to allow it. You alone are the keeper of your own interpretations which become your experiences. Thus, as the storyteller, you are the editor that decides how much the past will affect your present and future.
Reframing gives you the tools needed to make the past work for, not against your future. This power to reinterpret allows you to move out of victim consciousness into responsibility consciousness. You adopt the attitude of a continuous learner and become a deliberate creator. This shift in awareness makes true forgiveness possible. With true forgiveness, you recover or free up the energy circuits that were constantly replaying these negative experiences of your past.
By consciously reframing past events to support your new vision, you change how the past affects you. Rather than a mill stone around your neck, these same events now become the foundation for personal transformation.
Use the Law of the Past to build a better future and more importantly, a better you.
