We're so glad that you're still interested in EcoVisio's work, the opportunities you could get involved in and the informative materials we create. This newsletter is the first of this year and we assure you that we are full of ambition and energy at least as much as we were in 2024!

January at EcoVisio was all about totalizing the 2024 results, but also planning for 2025. We had less activities at the beginning of the year, but we didn't stop creating new informative materials for you. The "useful resources" section in this newsletter is rich as never before. Results celebration evening

At the end of December, we celebrated together the results achieved in the social entrepreneurship department and set new directions for strengthening the social entrepreneurship and social economy sector. EcoVisio Team Retreat

Before the winter holidays, we retreated to Palanca, surrounded by nature. There, by the warmth of the fireplace, we gave ourselves time and space as a team: we reflected, laughed, supported each other, and shared precious moments together. Once again, we realized how important it is to have a united team and how crucial everyone’s contribution to EcoVisio’s activities was in 2024. See here more photos from Palanca.

Moldovan mayors analyze composters in Bucharest

Visit to the Compost Academy in Bucharest

Although there have been local composting initiatives, we still do not have an integrated system to selectively collect and compost plant waste. In January, a group of 18 public officials, heads of municipal households and environmental activists from regions 5, 8 and 1 are on a study visit to Bucharest to learn and learn from the Compost Academy. Climate Platform in Moldova

In 2024, with the support of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, we enthusiastically began building the Climate Platform – a collaborative space for all those engaged in tackling climate change: public institutions, NGOs, businesses, experts, activists, and international organizations. We mapped out over 85 entities that contribute to environmental protection and climate adaptation through their work. Through interviews and focus groups, we identified key challenges, barriers, and solutions that can truly make a difference. Read more about the initiative in this post.

NGO Capacity Building Program

Want your NGO to grow and make a real impact in the community? "Strong NGOs for Resilient Localities" is a training, mentoring and organizational support program dedicated to CSOs that want to become more sustainable and effective. We encourage organizations from all regions of Moldova to apply, both those that are just starting out and those that have some experience behind them but want to expand to the next level. We will adapt the program to the needs and expectations of the participants.

Are you a teacher interested in the concept of social entrepreneurship? Do you want to promote environmental care, inclusion of people from vulnerable groups and empowerment of small communities in educational institutions? Then we invite you to our webinar series! Webinar Program:
- Introduction to social entrepreneurship and inspirational examples;
- Social entrepreneurship in education. Practical tools;
- Tools for working with young people. Relevant legislative issues.

For EcoVisio, “education” is more than just a word – it’s the foundation of everything we do. Whether it’s training sessions, workshops, hackathons, study visits, or forums, all our initiatives share one common thread: education. We firmly believe that education is the key to long-term solutions for any challenge.
Over the years, we’ve created and improved informational materials, and now we have an entire library of useful and colorful resources, also available online on the EcoVisio website: https://ecovisio.org/resources/info-materials. See in this post all the resources you can find on our website.

There were more materials promoted in January in the area of waste management, ecological agriculture and education... Unfortunately all those materials are only available in Romanian (the main language spoken in the Republic of Moldova) or Russian, that's why they are not included in the English version of the newsletter. People of EcoVisio

Anastasia Balamatiuc is an alumni of the activEco program in the summer of 2022 and since then concerned about the consequences of the climate crisis. She is a student in the primary education pedagogy program and an environmental facilitator, she divides her energy between formal and non-formal education. She firmly believes that education is the antidote to all problems and does not hesitate to scare people with the reality of climate change, only to convince them to act.
