To support this initiative we will be removing the above products from our shop floor but will maintain a small supply for internal use only for our workshops (e.g. straws used to build axles).
If you are a business or community group who currently carries these items in your stock please visit the State Government's Plastic Ban site for the most up-to-date and correct information on how to go about responsibly removing these items from your operations.
The Boomerang Alliance has also been engaged by the State Government to run information forums to help local communities comply with the ban.
The final word on what can and can't be recycled by kerbside collection
Did you know that our website outlines exactly what we can and can't take plus where to take what we don't on our Donations page?
We often find there is a sizeable amount of donation requests that can either be taken to a Brisbane City Council's Resource Recovery Centre (e.g. polystyrene and hard plastic toys) OR they can be picked up by kerbside collection (e.g. glass jars).
To find out the full list of things that can be put in your yellow bin, click on the link below. Otherwise, if you don't live in Brisbane then you can check with your local council.
