Contest Judge and Event Volunteer Sign-Up IMPORTANT
The sign-up for academic contests has begun. Please contact your room parent to sign-up before 10/15. Activities open for signing up include: Speech Contest (12/10/2023), Chinese New Year Festival (2/11/2024), and Vocabulary Contest (5/1/2024). Please refer to School Service-point Tasks for detail.

Seal of Biliteracy Test Registration

The Seal of Biliteracy Test（AAPPL）is scheduled to be in October & December. Virtual testing is being offered. The test date is on Oct 14th or Oct 15th. (Register by Oct 8th, 2023). Please refer to more details here

【ECS Star Team】

Recruiting 2023 NVAECS Stars Competition Team- Chinese Calligraphy ＮＥＷ

Competition will be on Saturday, December 9, 2023, 1:00 PM at TECRO

Requirements:

● 2023-2024 registered 5th to 12th grade ECS Students

● Parents’ and students’ full participation in the training through the competition date.

Congratulations! ECS Star Team Won the 1st place in the 4th Multimedia Application Contest on Confucianism and Traditional Chinese Culture

The contest was on 9/9 and the award ceremony was at the Confucius Memorial Ceremony. The participants are from Chinese schools and mainstream schools across the metro DC area. Congratulations to two outstanding ECS students: Brooke Nawrot and Vivien Trang in H1A winning 1st place in this contest!

Kids’ Chinese Wushu Lesson (for Age 6+) ＮＥＷ

ECS Ski Trip Registration Opening Soon! ＮＥＷ

We have arranged significant discounts again for Seven Springs for our school’s largest fundraiser of the year! To welcome both ECS and non-ECS families and encourage maximum participation, here are some features coming this year including the reservation dates from December 21 (Thurs) to December 27 (Weds). Come for any 1 night or all 7 nights!

● Lift Ticket Discounts of 74-95%! (also you can purchase lift tickets through your epic pass for all non holiday and holidays through the whole season to maximize your savings all year!)

● Registration will open next week and we will need checks and payments by October 29, 2023 for early bird discount:　we will waive the Registration Fee for all early bird discounts ($25 for ECS Families & $75 for Non ECS Families).

The highly-anticipated Fall Festival is coming! We need lots of volunteers. Please contact your room parent(s) to sign up to donate and serve food, to host game stations, or to help at second-hand sale tables. Contact Fundraising to sign up to set up or clean up the cafeteria.
