And on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Ida barreled through Louisiana.
My Louisiana family weathered Katrina just fine. Ida...not so much. She did the rare thing of coming far enough inland to make trouble beyond New Orleans.
All of my cousins lost trees and suffered minor house damage, except one. And I'm going to tell you about her in a minute.
