We need to think globally but act locally by creating, enacting and enforcing policies to promote sustainable change in our food system in ways that span generations, cultural divides and international borders. 

Everyone needs to play their part in the changes to come.

We need to work together to pool ideas, find solutions and enact impactful changes to the food system in order to understand and pay the true cost of food.

Multi-stakeholder collaboration is the key to finding systemic solutions to the issue of the hidden costs of our food.

We are all responsible for our own water use, so each of us must play our part to mitigate the issue of water scarcity. 

However, policymakers and governmental bodies have the most power to drive urgent change, and so must step up and take responsibility for doing so.

We all have a role to play as active citizens and informed consumers through changing our diets.

However, improving the links between researchers, industry and innovators will be crucial in crafting a more sustainable future for the aquaculture sector - and a better future for our oceans.

Boosting the value of food - particularly sustainably produced foods - is key to giving producers the capacity and incentive to invest in sustainable change. 

All of us need to believe that our food sector can become more sustainable, and support producers in making change.
