On 20 April, at the 65th session of the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the OPCW, Ambassador Vidmantas Purlys was elected Vice-Chair of the Executive Council of the OPCW to serve in that office for a period of one year.
In her series of paintings “We Are Guests”, Lithuanian artist Eglė Ridikaitė depicts fragments of the Great Vilna Synagogue, which were uncovered during recent archaeological excavations. The excavations took place over several summers, directly beneath the windows of the artist’s studio. Ridikaitė’s works were first exhibited at the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius in 2020, which itself was built on the territory of the former Vilnius ghetto.
“Startup Fair: Recharge 2021”, an international and one of the most important startup events in Lithuania, which will take place for the 9th year in a row, announces that the major recharge of the startup ecosystem will take place in Vilnius on 3-4 June, when the networking will be relaunched after a long-time gap, and when the flow of investments to the most promising startups will be increased by another financial “recharge” amounting to EUR 100 000.
The Government approved a package of laws initiated by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation aimed to facilitate the transfer of companies’ employees and their family members by transferring a company’s activities (or part of activities) from third countries to Lithuania.
