In this excerpt, James Tousignant shares his reflections on the following Caravan of Remembering quote:
What
would a year of living dangerously be for you? This would be a year of
living full out, holding nothing back, living fully alive and awake, and
taking the risks the voice in your heart calls you to. What would a
year of living “unafraid” create? What does this tell you about your
life mission?
After I settled my comfort zone down, you know, that little part of me that says, do I really want to live dangerously?, I realized for me, it’s not a physical thing. I’ve taken risks before like whitewater paddling. I know what it is to go over a 25 foot waterfall. That to me is not living dangerously, that’s managing risks, expectations, and adrenaline.
...
A year of living dangerously, for me, is about coming up against all those things I thought I was. And as I get
older, I’m realizing that I’m not all those things I thought I was and I
won’t be where I thought I would be. Life has a way of bringing those
realities into your awareness. Just being in the conversation with life
is a way of living dangerously and saying yes, most of the time.
