Piedras Blancas Lighthouse, Elephant Seals, & Cambria

Tuesday, February 11, 7am - 6pm, $59, meet at Buellton Rec Center
Located on a rugged windswept point just north of Hearst Castle, the iconic Light Station is a historic landmark only accessible by special tour. Afterwards, we’ll stop and see the Elephant Seal rookery and then relax a bit with lunch on your own in the charming village of Cambria, plus a stop in Harmony. Be sure to dress warmly for cold, blustery conditions on the coast.

Adamson House & Malibu Pier

Tuesday, March 10th, 7:30am-6pm, $49, depart from Buellton Rec Center
Enjoy a private tour of the Malibu Lagoon Museum and the historic Adamson House and gardens. Built in 1929 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, it was home to the last family members to own the 17,000 acre Malibu Spanish Land Grant.  The house boasts intricate Spanish and Moorish tile work, hand-carved doors, distinctive cast ironwork, and beautiful gardens. Huntington Library & Gardens

Wednesday, April 1, 8:30am – 6pm, $65, meet at Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall
Art and culture set amongst 150 acres of breathtaking gardens featuring over 14,000 plants. This trip includes a special walking group tour of the Japanese Garden. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore the many other gardens and the historic Huntington art collection, which includes works from the 15th to the early 20th century. If you have never been, take this opportunity to experience this 100-year-old cultural gem. Hosted by the Wilding Museum of Art & Nature and Solvang Rec Department. Griffith Observatory

Wednesday, May 20, 9am - 6:30pm, $40, meet at Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall
Experience Southern California’s historic gateway to the cosmos! Look through telescopes, explore exhibits, and enjoy iconic views over Los Angeles from atop Mount Hollywood, plus admission to the Samuel Oschin Planetarium for “Centered in the Universe.” Hosted by the Wilding Museum of Art & Nature and Solvang Rec Department.
