Wednesdays, 3rd November - 8th December 2021
This short course will introduce students to key figures and events from the Ancient Greek and Roman world, using individuals from Plutarch’s Parallel Lives as case studies. Students will learn about the mythological founders of Athens and Rome (Lives of Theseus and Romulus), prominent statesmen and the crises they endured (Lives of Pericles and Fabius Maximus), and famed conquerors and how they impacted the world around them (Lives of Pyrrhus and Marius).
This six week course will take place on Wednesdays at 19:00-20:00 (UK time) 3rd November, 10th November, 17th November, 24th November, 1st December and 8th December.
