Great PMs Let Fires Burn
An interesting take on management. Sometimes, it's necessary to let some fires burn, so you can work on the problems that really need solving. "If you spend all your time fighting fires, you may miss critical opportunities to build your business. You’ll be all reaction and no action." Had a really good conversation with my ex-boss recently, and he reminded me about situational leadership and the fact that he has intentionally let me fail before. Find the high-leverage fires to fight in your lives.

Why I'm unreachable and you should be too
Pieter Levels shares why he chooses not to be contactable. He does have a point about making the best use of his time. I agree on the importance of Deep Work & minimizing context-switching, but I still like to have an open inbox: it creates the best serendipity. I have adopted a mindful way of tackling those DMs though - I used to respond almost instantly (and got anxiety when I saw unread messages) but now I respond in batches so it takes a while for me to get to messages. And that's ok. Find the system that works for you :)

How to Learn A Language (And Stick With It)
It's harder to learn a language as an adult. I often marvel at my fiance's ability to speak 6 languages, while I can speak 2.5 myself. Here's a guide that teaches you how to learn one.

Tips:

1. Set specific, achievable goals at every stage, and test yourself to see if you can hit them
2. Find the method or methods that work for you – remember there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to language learning.
3. Make your language learning a part of your life, from your media consumption to your friendships and communities.

As we grow older, we move away from broad, touch-and-go relationships and seek out tighter circles. It's so important to find your tribe. This article explores the mindset that's required to build relationships online.
