Recently, I have started reading STORY by Robert McKee (Amazon link to the book). Among all the craft books I read, this book is totally different. If you want to have a profound understanding of the nature of story, read this book. It is a heavy book, but unlike many self-published craft books that I read, every sentence of this book is a lesson.
Reading this book not only changed my understanding of the story but also my attitude toward storytelling.
