“Unlike most of the volunteers, I only moved here in March of this year! But I had already spotted the Pools on a previous visit to Bath and thought it sounded like an amazing project because of my interest in the heritage and social history of the Pools.
History is my passion and has been my career for most of my life. I qualified as an Archivist 15 years' ago and have been very lucky to work at The Houses of Parliament, TATE archives and for the last eight years, I have been the Archivist at the Royal Albert Hall.
So it was only natural that I should have joined the Heritage Assets Team (HAT) and have really loved finding out more about the Pools. Looking at old photographs of the Pools is a delight. As a member of the HAT team, it’s our job to look after the digital (and sometimes real) assets that the Pools’ volunteers and Trustees have collected over the years. It has been great getting to meet new people and I can’t wait for the Pools to open!”
