The City of Vilnius strongly condemns the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine. We refuse to remain silent or indifferent and will continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and support their collective right to live in a sovereign, democratic and peaceful country.  

We encourage all our friends, colleagues and partners to continue standing together with Ukraine and do what they can to support those affected by the war. We are extremely proud to see our fellow Vilnius meeting and event industry professionals unanimously providing humanitarian aid for refugees, including accommodation, transportation, catering, and long-term employment. Thank you all. Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine. 

Conference Ambassador honoured at prestigious city awards

We are happy to announce that this year, Vilnius’ Conference Ambassador Prof Augustina Jankauskienė was recognised with the city’s most prestigious award – the statue of St. Christopher. Thanks to the professor, next year Vilnius will be hosting over 600 experts and scientists at the Annual Conference of the European Society for Pediatric Nephrology. More

Vilnius will host EFIB 2022 this October

Lithuania’s strong track record in industrial biotechnology recently attracted a major event to Vilnius. The European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy recently announced the details for the 15th edition of its annual event. Hosted by Lithuanian Biotechnology Association, the forum will take place on 26-27 October and will gather 600 top experts and leaders for plenary sessions and an exhibition in Lithuania’s capital. Vilnius Film Festival opened by honouring Ukrainian resistance

The Vilnius International Film Festival has returned with in-person events after two consecutive years of hosting a virtual format due to the pandemic. Last week, Lithuania’s largest cinematic event announced live screenings in the country. Taking place from 24 March to 3 April, the festival is actively boycotting all Russian films, honouring Ukrainian directors and presenting to audience more than 140 films. More
