FSU students and faculty examine digital citizenship

Florida State University’s Critical Thinking Initiative and University Libraries will host the Critical Thinking Symposium: Digital Citizenship & Society today through Wednesday, Feb. 26. The symposium will encourage students and faculty to think critically about how technology and humanity, digital citizenship and society continuously develop norms of responsible, ethical and positive digital experiences as content creators and content consumers. Read more ...

FSU undergraduates present research at Florida Capitol

Four Florida State University undergraduate students presented their research among legislative members at the Florida State Capitol on Monday, Feb. 10. The inaugural Undergraduate Research Posters at the Capitol was put on by the Florida Undergraduate Research Association (FURA) to provide a way for undergraduate students to engage directly in the political process. This year, over 50 students from 15 institutions all across the state of Florida were represented. Read more ...

FSU welcomes Florida congresswoman to campus

Florida State University welcomed U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor to campus Tuesday to tour the brand-new Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science Building and learn about the breadth of faculty research in the department. During her visit, Castor toured the new EOAS building, which officially opened this month, and heard presentations on wildfire, hurricanes, the human impact on the carbon cycle and how the climate affects public health. Castor also met with students to hear about their experience at FSU. Read more ...

FSU researchers develop new online, mindfulness-based art therapy intervention

Florida State University researchers have developed an online intervention that combines mindfulness practices, art therapy and the simple act of manipulating clay to reduce stress and anxiety in college students. In a study published in SAGE Journals, the researchers described the results of what may be the first electronically delivered mindfulness-based art therapy (MBAT) intervention. Read more ...
