Triple-A: Enhancing at an Early Stage the Investment Value Chain of Energy Efficiency Projects is an EU-funded research project under the Horizon 2020 programme, aiming to assist financial institutions increase their deployment of capital in energy efficiency, making investments more transparent

Explore the Newly Available Triple-A Tools!

The first version of the Triple-A Tools is now online, including an energy efficiency project benchmarking tool and an online  web-based database!

The Triple-A Standardised Tools are capable of pre-screening, assessing and benchmarking energy efficiency investment ideas at EU level, while the Triple-A web-based database is an interactive visualization of the Triple-A risk analysis of energy efficiency financing.

More information on the Tools and Database is available here.

Web-Based Database on EE Financing

The Triple-A Web-based Database on EE financing is an online interactive application that incorporates the results from the status quo analysis and the elaboration, categorization of the financing instruments and risk mitigation strategies per case-study country within the framework of Triple-A project.

Thus, with this knowledge database Triple-A offers a cross-country analysis through an interactive and Web-based Database, including interactive maps and graphs.

Triple-A Standardised Tools

The Triple-A Standardised Tools are the key element to pave the way for identifying and financing Triple-A investments, as they materialise the Triple-A approach.

More specifically, the Assess Tool evaluates mainly the risks and maturity of the proposed investments together with the EU Taxonomy compliance, the Agree Tool identifies the Triple-A investments and the Assign Tool matches the investments with state-of-the-art green financing trends.

Briefly, the Triple-A Tools will facilitate project developers to benchmark their own project in a standardised way (Assess & Agree Tool), while providing a link to financers, bankers and investors (Assign Tool) in order to finance the benchmarked projects.

The Triple-A Tools are accessible through the Triple-A Standardised Toolbox platform that can be reached directly, or through the Triple-A webpage.

Triple-A Reports available

Web-Based Database on Energy Efficiency Financing and Supporting Documentation: the report outlines in detail the design and content of this knowledge database, while providing descriptions on how to navigate the database interface. The functionalities, data provided and structure of this knowledge database’s components are also defined in this context.

Draft Standardised Triple-A Tools: The report describes the philosophy, methodology and process flow for each one of the Triple-A Tools - Assess, Agree, Assign - and incorporates design and implementation documents, administrator manuals and training material. The Triple-A Tools are analysed individually, providing the necessary scientific background, calculations and raw data utilisation. All the operation and support procedures are reported, along with the next steps and further implementation procedures towards the finalisation of the Triple-A Standardised Tools by December 2020.
