The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported the sighting of an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) south of Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. The UAS was observed in the vicinity of maritime traffic.

This sighting, along with multiple sightings of uncrewed surface vessels (USV) and suspicious small craft in the area, raises concerns of potential surveillance or hostile activities in the area.

All vessels in the area are advised to proceed with caution and to report any suspicious activities to the UKMTO.
