Today's Readings & Reflection
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home. After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, he said (in order to fulfil the scripture), ‘I am thirsty.’ A jar full of sour wine was standing there. So they put a sponge full of the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to his mouth. | In Memoriam: Deacon Greg Lafave |
|
|
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Deacon Greg Lafave, who passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 86. Ordained to the permanent diaconate in 1982 for the Archdiocese of St. Boniface, Deacon Greg was later incardinated into the Diocese of Calgary in 2006. He served faithfully at St. Albert the Great Parish until his retirement in 2017.
Deacon Greg was a devoted husband to the late Ruth and a beloved father and grandfather. His kindness, devotion, sense of humour, and dedication to family and community will be remembered always. Read obituary
