Over 72,000 gyroplane student flight hours logged
Gyropedia, an online and textbook-based instruction program, has been selected by Air Command as its primary flight training program. Gyropedia began as a worldwide standardization of gyroplane flight training to lower insurance costs. Today, over 72,000 flight hours have been logged into the program.
"The foundation of a great instructional program is its curriculum", according to Air Command President Joe Covelli. "Gyropedia is a recognized world leader in our aviation market space." Covelli added, "As we bring our rotorcraft models back into production later this year, it is essential we use the best training resources to benefit both instructors and student pilots alike. A stable performing gyroplane is only as safe as the pilots who fly them."
Phil Harwood, the Chairman of IAPGT, the organization that developed Gyropedia said, "Over the past seven years, Gyropedia has had active involvement from over 130 instructors from around the world as part of the `Best Practice Challenge`. The ability to collaborate on techniques and learn lessons from a peer group is a vital component in creating a safe gyroplane community. The active participation by Air Command reflects the company's positive attitude to provide a complete support network for the pilots who will fly the Air Command gyroplane."
