No Summer Camp, No Problem!

East Hartford, CT, With the statewide ban of sleep-away and residents camps our time honored  tradition of Scout summer camp was in jeopardy.   As you may know a Scout is thrifty and our Scouts remained resolved to have a summer adventure despite the conditions.

In Connecticut we pivoted and we want to introduce Camp Kinda-Like-A!  A virtual based summer camp complete with merit badges, camp fires, counselors, a trading post and most importantly Scouts.  Camp Kinda-Like-A is a ten week virtual summer camp experience.   We have over 700 Scouts currently enrolled from 26 states.  We have Scouts from kindergarten to seniors in high school participating in this unique program.  Our Camp staff is working hard to bring program to youth.  We just welcomed specialty weeks to the program offerings and ones like our Small Boat Sailing program institutes a hybrid of in person day camp and  virtual classrooms.  Our camp is not just for Scouts but non-Scouts are participating as well and we welcome all youth.  If you want to find out more about our nation leading virtual summer camp please contact Sean Fogle at or check out our Camp Kinda-Like-A Head Quarters here!

As we continue to "Scout On" we want to thank all of the first liners out there who make it  possible for us to continue our mission to the youth of the state.

The Connecticut Rivers Council proudly serves over 13,000 boys and girls throughout Connecticut with the time-tested leadership training program of Scouting. The Connecticut Rivers Council will enthusiastically meet new challenges head-on and continue to offer quality programming and services to the communities we serve.

Yours in the Community,

Connecticut Rivers Council
