As You Like It, directed by Ralph Fiennes, opens at Theatre Royal Bath
The Ralph Fiennes / Theatre Royal Bath Season season continues with William Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, directed by Ralph Fiennes. Dylan Moran, Patrick Robinson and Charlie Rowe join the previously announced Dame Harriet Walter and Gloria Obianyo in the new production of Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It.
For Rosalind and Orlando, it is love at first sight, but family feuds are destined to keep the young would-be lovers apart. When Rosalind is banished, she and her cousin Celia escape to the Forest of Arden, where they find that the possibilities for love and connection are infinite.

frankie
August is a graveyard for new magazine releases. With so many publications packaged as ‘summer issues’ and sent out in June and early July it can feel as though not much is coming in and that there’s not much going on. Fortunately we’re able to import frankie from Australia where it’s winter right now and things are actually buzzing. Issue 127 is described by its editors as the freshest issue yet and ‘kind of sporty’. It features a fabulous athleisure wear shot in a retro bowling alley, a handy guide to pickleball, interviews with a book designer, an outback explorer and two board game developers, plus the usual – or unusual – blend of fashion, craft, lifestyle and wellbeing content that
make this magazine unique.

Theatre Reviews
HEDDA at the Ustinov Studio
"Writer and director Matthew Dunster’s new adaptation of this venerable classic – a Theatre Royal Bath production starring Lily Allen in the title role – remains true to Ibsen’s original themes (the abuse of emotional and financial power; control and manipulation; toxic relationships; psychological anguish) but introduces us to a Hedda for a whole new generation influenced more by glossy Netflix domestic dramas than academic tracts-on-stage."
At the Ustinov Studio until Saturday 23 August; tickets here.

Bath City v Dover Athletic, KO 3pm Saturday
It’s matchday 2 in the National League South and Bath City’s first home game of the new season at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park with Dover Athletic making the long journey west from Kent.
Last week Bath City's Mitch Beardmore came off the bench to score a 91st minute equaliser, securing a point away to Worthing. Building on that, Bath City should hope to impress at the newly named stadium and develop their position in the table while following on their good form from last season. Dover, promoted back to the league after a season in the Isthmian League Premier, narrowly lost 3-2 at the Crabbie last Saturday to AFC Totton.
Although City have failed to beat the Dover Whites in recent National League South games - mostly drawing - they have had some success against them in previous FA Cup encounters.
This should be a good game.

Primrose House is approached via a generous brick-paved driveway which leads to the garage and front entrance, bordered by a level front garden with mature planting, well-tended borders and a striking fir tree.

The interior is beautifully presented, with attention to detail evident throughout. The ground floor benefits from zoned underfloor heating and a thoughtfully extended kitchen, with all rooms accessed from a central hallway that also links to the integral garage—currently utilised as a gym.
The main sitting room overlooks the front garden and opens directly into the kitchen, which features a central island and double doors leading to the rear garden. An archway flows seamlessly into the dining room, which in turn provides access to a practical utility room. A guest cloakroom completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, a bright and spacious landing leads to four well-proportioned bedrooms. The principal suite, set within the rear extension, includes a stylish en-suite shower room and a private dressing room. The remaining bedrooms each enjoy a pleasant outlook, and the family bathroom has been fully refitted to a high standard.
To the rear, the level and enclosed garden is perfect for family life and outdoor entertaining. Gated access to both sides, mature planting, and a generous patio terrace—directly accessible from the kitchen—make this a wonderfully functional and attractive outdoor space.
