ENCHANTING NIGHT OF ART AND CULTURE IN THE ANCIENT HILLTOP TOWN OF VOLTERRA

We warmly invite you to join us for the yearly cultural event LA NOTTE ROSSA, the Red Night on the 14th of September, happening in the heart of Tuscany, in the magnificent Volterra, the home of KALPA Galleries. On this special evening, the medieval buildings and the Etruscan landmarks are illuminated in a warm red light, while the whole town celebrates culture in all its forms, inviting the public to discover monuments and museums, private residencies, hidden gems and archives.

For this occasion, at KALPA, we are excited to present a captivating musical event, welcoming the classical notes of a young talented string quartet into our timeless historical interiors. The performance will take place in the unique atmosphere on the ground floor of Palazzo Bonomini and will be accessible to guests until late evening. 

With the return of the autumnal air of September, and its still pleasant days and nights, at KALPA we welcome visitors to explore our art collection and discover our curated exhibitions.

The weekend of the NOTTE ROSSA will also be the last possibility to visit ESSENTIA, the third and final edition of the triennial exhibition program Timeless Encounters 2022 - 2024, promoted by KALPA and the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum of Volterra , featuring the sculpture in wood of British artist ELEANOR LAKELIN (1960) and a selection of Etruscan archeological artefacts. 

Set within one of the evocative rooms of Palazzo dei Priori in the main square of Volterra, ESSENTIA introduces Lakelin’s ongoing iconic series Echoes of Amphora in dialogue with a curated group of Hellenistic pottery (III-II BCE) from the Museum’s collection. Exclusively for the evening of the 14th of September, the Palazzo will be open to the public until midnight.

Delving into multiple possibilities of encounter, Eleanor Lakelin's sculpture in wood and the Etruscan amphoras and urns amaze visitors and present themselves with timeless splendor.
