Mount Gambier isn’t a town usually associated with heavier music acts but that is about to change following the release of Higgs Field‘s debut EP Paracusia, an eclectic yet cohesive first offering from a young band intent on shaking up the system. Blending grunge, rock, metal and hard rock into a tightly wound slab of original music, Higgs Field have shown a maturity beyond their years with this release, promising an even brighter future for a band who openly ...
Loosely classified as emo/punk, Sydney rockers Clay J Gladstone presented their latest single “Sorry” to the world earlier this week via HEAVY in a move that I have to admit made me question the sanity of the band. Not that there’s anything wrong with the track – it’s actually a belter – but how it would be accepted by our readership was potentially another subject entirely. Within 30 seconds of taking the call with vocalist Clay I realised ...

Clay J Gladstone formed last year, comprising current and former members of Sydney outfits Resist The Thought, Caulfield and Buried In Verona. Described by Happy Mag as âgritty, perversive, and utterly lusciousâ, Clay J Gladstone produce catchy and fun hard rock/punk tunes that will linger in ...

Flaming Wrekage have released their latest metal masterpiece with new single âThe Voicelessâ. True to form “The Voiceless” and its upcoming video clip dive deep into some truly personal territory. Sonically, the song is classic melodeath styles delivered with that Flaming Wrekage flair complemented by a chorus and hook that grow in size each time you hear them. The song sets up for a monumental wall of guitars and builds into a pummeling crescendo through ...
Brisbane based progressive metal sensations The Stranger are pleased to announce their new album Kaleidoscope for release on April 9 via Octane Records. The album can be best described as an audible manifesto of the harboured anxiety and anticipation for the future. Kaleidoscope is an acknowledgement of change and of shifting paradigms, and frustration at those who would adapt too quickly or too slowly. As always, Bobo was in fine form, answering everything thrown at him – and more – in another chapter of the fascinating and adventurous life of an Australian icon. Louise even took time out from watching Dirty Harry to throw in an opinion or two in what is the perfect launching pad into the next few weeks ...
The metal family is never stronger than when one of our own is in need. Especially when that person is as likable, loveable, and downright talented as Massic vocalist Simon Russell-White. In December Simon collapsed while running with an exploded aorta that required immediate and highly risky open-heart surgery. The initial prognosis was grim but after 8 hours of open-heart surgery Simon defied medical opinion and thankfully pulled through. Continue reading SI-FEST ...
