Hello! I know February is a shorter month, is it just me though or did it seem *really* short this year?
I am writing this off the back of the recent government announcement on the path and roadmap back to ‘normality’. There seems to be an optimistic mood or dare I say positive energy in the air. Or is this just that people looking forward to the kids going back to school?!
This sentiment has been reflected in the hiring space here at Prism with our clients continuing to ramp up their hiring in February.
Increasingly we are seeing some of the more progressive organisations being open to hiring staff on a 100% remote working basis. This is particularly the case when looking for the more niche skills sets or for the in-demand profiles of DevOps/Cloud engineers. It is certainly a great option in opening up new talent pools to organisations and new opportunities that wouldn’t normally be available to prospective employees. Would you hire someone who would work 100% remotely or would you be prepared to work for a company 100% remotely? At the risk of sounding like Les Dennis.. the results of our survey said!
Prism are proud to be sponsoring a new online DevOps conference next month, BlueprintLDN on the 10th & 11th March. It looks to be an awesome event with a great list of contributors and vendors signed up. I will be hosting a session on hints, tips and market insights on hiring into the DevOps/Cloud space. This will be both from a prospective employee and employer perspective. Be sure to check it out below!
I hope you've had a good month and welcome to Spring! As always, if you want to talk to me about the market, DevOps trends etc. do not hesitate to get in touch, it would be great to hear from you.
All the best to you, Alex (DevOps) Dover.

The always-on, always-available expectations of digital services have increased the requirements of technical teams to provide response and readiness around the clock. For teams new to this concept, introducing on-call ownership can be difficult and complex. This talk will cover the organisational practices that will help your team transition to on-call responders and build a supportive response culture.
