Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The Department of the Interior (DOI) has announced
that it will host three listening sessions open to the general public to gather input for developing its Environmental Justice Strategic Plan. This action is in response to President Biden’s Executive Order 14096, “Revitalizing Our Nation’s Commitment to Environmental Justice for All.” This E.O. directs agencies to develop an Environmental Justice Strategic Plan to establish DOI’s vision, goals, priority actions, and metrics to address and advance environmental justice. DOI’s listening sessions are meant to receive feedback on its draft vision, goals, and objectives, identify implementation strategies, and identify priority actions to advance environmental justice.
Details regarding the upcoming public listening sessions are as follows—
Date/Time: Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm ET
Date/Time: Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm ET
Date/Time: Friday, December 1, 2023 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm ET
