Tonight we celebrate the birth of Jesus into the world, a sign of God’s ever present faithfulness and love. We will also hear a variety of voices tonight. Our readers are Dana Monk, Linda Gunther (with granddaughters in tow), Rev. Judith Muller, Porter Spencer, Maggie Knauss, Kirk Grier, Linda Sizer and Scott Eschbach. In addition, we will also hear Christmas greetings from many friends, people whom you may not have seen in a while.
Alongside the story told in Scripture, we will see the story depicted in art and hymns. Erin McKibben, Konrad Kono, and Tim Accurso will be presenting hymns as well as solo pieces throughout the service. Make sure to prepare by having the song lyrics ready to go (see the links below). You can print them out or keep them by your side on your smartphone.
As you settle in to watch the service, whether with family or alone, I pray that you feel the presence of your church community near you. After all, it is in and through our church family that we feel the presence of God near us. May it be so!
