Dear Southwest Region Conference Family:

It appears that wintertime is behind us and springtime awaits us! As we enter the Spring months, many of our churches are gearing up for public evangelism! With all that is going on in our global world, Christ’s mandate to share this wonderful Advent message is even more critical! The goal is that we share the love of Jesus, and in response, individuals fall in love with Him and surrender their lives to our Savior!

Regional Conference Caucus 

The past couple of weeks have been very busy ones. From planning meetings to advance the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church among the Regional Conference Caucus, fellow Conference Presidents in the North American Division, the most recent meeting Regional Conference Presidents had with our General Conference President, Pastor Erton Kohler, to meeting with Pastors and church members across our Southwest Region Conference territory, my travels have been numerous to say the least. Yet, I must admit that I get inspired and invigorated when we intentional plan to grow God’s work! So in the words of the Mississippi Mass Choir’s song, “I’m Not Tired Yet!” In the name of Jesus, we press on! Jesus is coming! Let’s tell the world!

History of Regional Conferences

As we closed out Black History Month (February), coupled with our Regional Conference Presidents’ Meeting with Pastor Kohler, the video above was produced to share the history of Regional Conferences. Kindly view and share it with others as this presentation will greatly provide insight on the origins, purpose, and continuing need for Regional Conferences.

Camp Meeting

Our 2026 English Camp Meeting will commence June 10-13, 2026 at Lone Star Camp in Athens, TX! Our theme for this year is “Rooted, Revived, and Reaching!” We want to be rooted in God’s Word, revived by God’s Spirit, and reach God’s people by sharing God’s love! 

Our special guest speakers will include Pastor Roger Bernard (Wednesday evening Speaker), Executive Director for the Office of Regional Conference Ministries; Pastor Chanda Nunes-Henry (Thursday evening Speaker), Executive Secretary for the Nevada-Utah Conference; Dr. Paul Graham (Friday evening Speaker and Sabbath Youth Speaker – Divine Worship), Potomac Conference; and Dr. Noah Washington (Sabbath Adult Speaker – Divine Worship), Allegheny East Conference! Our special musical guests will include renowned gospel music artist, John P. Kee and the New Life Community Choir, Stephen Manders and Decree, Gale Jones Murphy, Myron Butler, and the Southwest Region Conference Mass Choir! 

Please plan now to be in attendance and begin praying for a mighty move of God! We’re pleased to announce that we have increased housing on the campground (since last year’s Camp Meeting) with two new housing lodges, which means we will have a total of five housing lodges this year! 

Online registration for housing (lodges, cabins, etc.) on the campground will begin Monday, March 16, 2026, at 8:00 AM.

Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)

As we have previously shared, beginning next school year (2026-2027), the State of Texas will provide Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA). This is a state-funded education savings account program created by the Texas Legislature allowing eligible families to use state education funds for approved educational expenses, including private Christian school tuition. We’re pleased to announce that our four Adventist Church Schools in Texas – 1) Applegate Christian Academy in Round Rock, TX (Austin Metropolitan area), 2) Bethel Elementary School in Texarkana, TX, 3) Excel Adventist Academy in Houston, TX, and 4) Southwest Christian Academy in Dallas, TX are all affiliated with this program which will provide funding in the amount of $10,000 per student. This is an excellent opportunity for our youth to be enrolled in our schools free from tuition challenges. Registration for these funds is now taking place and will end March 17, 2026. It is critical that parents register before this deadline to be eligible for these funds. For more information, please see below.

Moving Southwest '4' Ward 

Please be mindful that we need your continued prayers and support to our “Moving Southwest ‘4’ Ward” initiative as we seek to advance the mission of the Southwest Region Conference through Evangelism, Adventist Education, Media Ministry, and Youth/Young Adult Ministry.
