It has been reported that an underway bulk carrier was approached by a single skiff with six armed pirates, approximately 212nm south of Cotonou. The pirates made three attempts to board the bulk carrier but were unsuccessful due to the vessel carrying out evasive manoeuvres. The crew retreated to the citadel and have been reported as safe.
