School & Community Habitat Grant
Is your school, community group, or local organization looking for funding to install a pollinator garden, food forest, rain garden, etc? The WCCD's School & Community Habitat Grant (SCHG) is now accepting applications until the deadline on June 10th, 2024 for project installations in 2025!

Join us in celebrating 76 years of conservation work in Washtenaw County at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse in Ypsilanti, MI. The evening will feature a keynote presentation by Naim Edwards, Director of MSU Urban Ag Center, on "Cultivating Resilient Communities with Edible Forests".
The meeting will also include a presentation on our work at the WCCD, awards for key community leaders, and a snapshot of upcoming programming. Dinner will be provided by Angel Food Inc. Door prizes will be raffled to attendees! Tickets are $20 each, RSVP is required. Tickets may be purchased online.

How to Assess, Manage, & Preserve Your Land |
|
Join your neighbors and Township representatives to learn about the benefits of and opportunities for farmland and natural area preservation. Landowners are encouraged to attend the presentation and discuss individual properties with staff from local conservation organizations (Washtenaw County Conservation District, Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation, Legacy Land Conservancy, Ann Arbor Greenbelt, River Raisin Watershed Council, and Huron River Watershed Council). The presentation and the speakers are tailored to each Township, but anyone is welcome to attend. Registration requested.

2024 Director Elections
All residents of Washtenaw County who are of legal age and have demonstrated residency by one (1) piece of identification may vote by casting 1 ballot at the annual meeting.
Residents may also vote by requesting an absentee ballot by mail, or filling out a ballot at the WCCD office starting Monday, December 5th, 2023 until the deadline: January 18, 2024 at the 76th Annual Meeting.

Pick-up March 25! The Washtenaw County Conservation District sells rain barrels, composters, and related supplies for water catchment systems and composting systems. These practices conserve rainwater and prevent runoff, and composting practices reduce food waste.
