The upcoming Annual George Meany Dinner is taking place on February 27th, 2025 at UAW Region 127800 George Merrelli Dr Warren, MI 48092. Proceeds from this dinner will help fund delivery of our youth career exploration program “Exploring” to young men and women in Michigan interested in union careers.
Thousands of union members serve youth through Scouting America in local districts and councils, and on the regional and national levels. In recognition of their contributions to America’s future, the AFL-CIO Executive Council established the George Meany Award. It may be presented to any adult union member who has made a significant contribution to the youth of their community through Scouting.
We encourage you to think of the union members you know that should be recognized for their service and leadership within Scouting America, and submit Nomination forms for those individuals on the George Meany Dinner Event Page. Nominations are accepted until January 15th, 2025.
