Gender Equality Index 2021 coming soon

2021 has been the year of health, according to Ursula Von der Leyen’s State of the Union speech. This is one of the reasons why the thematic focus of this year’s Gender Equality Index is health. We pay special attention to sexual and reproductive health, as well as mental health and how it has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Index conference will be held on 28th October, and you’ll be able to watch live. In the meantime, here and here are our teaser videos.

Secondary Victimisation.

This occurs when victims of assault suffer psychological trauma, not due to the criminal act itself, but due to the manner in which institutions or individuals are dealing with them after the fact. It can be caused by exposure to the perpetrator(s), repeated interrogation about the same facts or inappropriate comments or questions. Find out more in our Glossary and Thesaurus here.
