Florida State University’s School of Theatre will celebrate fifty years of success with its 2023-2024 season, which features two plays and three musicals showcasing student artistry. Performances begin October 2023 and run through April 2024. Researchers use 3D models to investigate bacteria movement

In a new study published by Physical Review Letters, FAMU-FSU College of Engineering researchers created a 3D model of this bacteria to better understand its movement, hoping to crack the code governing the organism’s motility and develop alternative treatments for infections, such as strengthening the gastric mucus barrier that stands against the bacteria. Read more ...

FSU neuroscientist wins prestigious chemical senses award for work on taste function

The Association for Chemoreception Sciences presented Florida State University's Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience Alan Spector with the Max Mozell Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Chemical Senses for his career-long contributions to research. Spector studies taste preferences and aversions, the regulation of eating and drinking, sensory processes and the neural basis of gustation. Read more ...

FSU English professor to use second Fulbright Award to teach in Japan

Perry Howell, a senior lecturer in FSU's Department of English, earned the 2023-2024 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award and, starting next spring, he will teach two classes each at Tokai University and J.F. Oberlin University, both in the Tokyo area. Read more ...
