Postcard from Barbara

Now that the next issue of Winning Ways is off to the printer, my major occupation these days is avoiding the heat. I learned long ago that heat and humidity are not conducive to creative accomplishment so I try to plan accordingly.

Summertime becomes my time to tackle mindless, but necessary, chores. It’s also a fine time to take care of the boss and up my self-care.

Even though they may not be the most thrilling activities, I remind myself that having control of my schedule is an enormous bonus of the joyfully jobless life. I also challenge myself frequently by asking myself “how can I make it better?” Sometimes that brings up an idea. More often, however, I simply see some little thing like a misplaced stack of books that prompts me to take immediate action.

Of course, this past week also included the celebration for Making a Living Without a Job’s twenty-fifth anniversary. Thank you to everyone who shared your stories and kind wishes.

Although I haven’t done any teleclasses recently, a few days ago I listened to Turning Personal Experiences Into Profit Centers in anticipation of being interviewed on that subject.

I hadn’t heard it for quite some time and was pleasantly surprised by all the great information it contains.

What a fine way to learn things in July, I decided. If you want to ease up a bit and still acquire some fresh ideas while sitting in an air-conditioned room, I urge you to visit the teleclass page at JoyfullyJobless.com

You’’ll find 14 subjects including  A Dozen Ways to Build Your Expert Status and the popular Creating and Managing Multiple Profit Centers.

Once you’ve ordered the audio, you can listen to it as often as you like. (You still may want to listen with a notebook unless you have a photographic memory.)

And if you act quickly you’ll find them all on sale for just $19 during the month of July. You can get out of summer smarter than you got in!

Most businesses are born in a state of excitement. We can’t wait to get our great idea up and running. It’s all new and exciting. After a bit, things settle down, familiarity settles in. The honeymoon is over.

It doesn’t have to be that way. You can make your business an on-going creative adventure that continues to surprise and delight. Sometimes all it takes is getting a fresh perspective.

That’s exactly what my new program Small, Sassy & Successful is designed to do. Both practical and inspiring, I’m willing to bet that if you join me, you’ll find yourself thinking, “Wow! I never thought of that. Can’t wait to try it out.”

Yes, you’ll have to leave the house to join us, but consider what Jim Rohn so wisely pointed out: Get around people who have something of value to share with you. Their impact will continue to have a significant effect on your life long after they have departed.

You can add more creative adventure to your business by joining me on September 14 & 15 in Nashville, TN.  Seats are limited so don’t dither if you want to be part of this exciting event. Click here for details.

Buon Viaggio,
