Here Comes Summer! It Must Be Time To Visit Keswick, The Lake District

June was such a busy month in Keswick, with lots of events taking place, so it's little wonder that it went by in the blink of an eye.

July sees the start of the summer holidays, with many Scottish schools breaking up this week and the English schools breaking up mid-month. The town will be buzzing with families enjoying their summer break and no matter what the summer weather brings, there will be plenty to keep everyone busy. This month's newsletter gives you a flavour of what you can expect when visiting this summer.

July and August are popular months for a visit to Keswick, so it is best to get your accommodation booked early via our website, visitkeswick.com, and don't forget it is also packed with information and ideas for things to do.

What's Coming Up In Keswick

While there aren't too many large events taking place in July, there are plenty of smaller events and activities happening to keep the whole family busy. Read on to find out more.

Theatre by the Lake

On Now – Brassed Off

ON NOW the 1996 smash-hit film starring Ewan McGregor and Pete Postlethwaite, Brassed Off, is on stage at Theatre by the Lake. This much-loved modern classic is full of grit, heart and northern humour. Featuring live music from Penrith Town Band, it promises to deliver a soul-stirring theatrical experience.

With a cast of 10 talented actors and some of them actor-musicians this production is guaranteed to get your toes tapping and give you a warm glow as we celebrate the power of the human spirit (and music) overcoming adversity.

Festival of Archaeology at Castlerigg Stone Circle – 13^th July

Keswick Museum and English Heritage are on-site showing Neolithic handling collection and free talks about the circle and the people who built it.
